I am always surprised by the number of requests from other countries we get asking if we will ship outside of the US. This week we shipped to Great Brittan and in the past I have seen inquires from Belgium, Iceland and Mexico. Shipping costs have always been the problem but we may have it on a solution.

We are testing a new kit designed specifically for International sales. The first package shipped this week and if it arrives at it destination without any hiccups we will look at making it a standard offering on the Website Stay tuned for more information on this product mix and details about the program.

Vacations are no excuse for not keeping up my blog entries but that is about the best I can come up with at the moment. I would have used the “my dog ate my keyboard but I don’t have a dog.

Back to the vacation for a moment. 10 days of sailing in the Florida Keys and I have found another great application for our PixelClean Travel Wipes that I have mentioned before. Sunglasses! I have been using this product on a pair of Costa Del Mar’s for about 4 years now with great results. My particular glasses are glass with with coated lenses but a number of my crew mates were wearing glasses made with polycarbonate lenses.

We refer to these as “single use” but there is enough cleaning agent on the wet side to do quite a few lenses and the dry side is sturdy enough to last through repeated cleanings. One pack lasted my crew of nine friends all day. The trick is to keep the package intact by just tearing each side open enough to remove the wet then dry wipes when your finished fold them back up and return them to the pack.

Last month we opened an account on Amazon and have have been pleasantly surprised with the results. This month we are adding eBay as a seller resource. We are using both’ buy it now’ and auction pricing formats, go take a look you might just find a good deal.

I use eBay quite often when looking for a specific type of product to get a quick idea of what is available and general pricing guidelines, I am sure others do as well.

While these other sources might be more convenient for you, you can also always purchase your LCD or computer screen cleaning supplies directly from us through our site.

Our formula is manufactured and bottled in the U.S.A. as are our Wet/Dry Foil Pack. If we could find a US supplier for the Micro Cleaning cloths we would source them here but so far we have not found that supplier. (If you are a US manufacturer for this type of product we would be happy to talk with you.)

We have been particularly sensitive to keeping our manufacturing and bottling here for a couple of reasons but th e most important for our users is the ability to control the quality of our ingredients and how it is mixed.

If the Chinese can’t get wallboard right why would anyone trust their expensive LCD/LED screens to a cleaner that may or may not contain chemicals or other ingredients harmful to polymer films.

The name Victor Kiam is rolling around in my head as I try to create my first blog post about the reasons I bought a company called PixelClean™. Click on his name to see a writeup about him.

Back in 1979, Victor Kiam was widely known as the man who said he liked Remington razors so much that he bought the company. He wrote and starred in Remington commercials that aired worldwide.

I feel much the same way. A great company with a terrific product that just was not getting the attention it deserved by the former owners. I want to change that, and while I am doing it I want this blog to reflect the growth of PixelClean™ and the ups and downs of owning your own business. With touch screens of all types and sizes entering the market PixelClean™ is in a perfect position to capitalize on the need for a safe effective cleaner.

As this blog progresses it will include tips for cleaning not just LCD screens but a wide variety of polymer films and coated glass surfaces. Hopefully I can keep it entertaining and informative for more than just my Mom and my friends.

Most screens for laptops, PCs, televisions and so many other electronic devices are produced using polymer films on the outer surface. Unlike glass the films can and will react to different chemicals and are not scratch resistant.

Many household cleaners contain chemicals that were not designed for use on these films. Two of the most common are alcohol and ammonia, great cleaning agents for windows, counter tops, and appliances but they will either cloud or yellow the surface of your electronic screens. The other way these cleaners work is to use a mild abrasive, again they won’t scratch your kitchen or bathroom but they will do so on your screens. In some cases the manufacturers of common household cleaners offer their products without or diluted chemicals and abrasives but they still use the same technology, it’s just not as good. If it were they would not have added chemicals or abrasives to begin with.

PixelClean uses a different technology to dissolve grease and lift the dirt from the surface. How it works is proprietary and will for the time being remain a company secret.
